I couldn't locate specifically what I was looking for so I took a shot in the dark and purchased a second one particular of these (Amazon was type enough to take back the 1st). In our case, the second 1 is a charm. It functions properly, with all my pros still going for it. Of course, the cons stay a trouble, but I bought some microphone covers to muffle the sound a bit and longer corded microphones. Other than the troubles listed beneath, this second one is working well. I have, in latest months, recommended it to consumers because the value is superior and this second one is operating for us.

Earlier assessment:
It worked wonderful- till it broke on the third day of use. The microphone input pushed into the machine and that was it. I could take it apart and attempt to fix it, but that could possibly invalidate the warranty so I will send it back.
Pros:
- The sound was fairly excellent on the speaker (for the price, of course)
- Was compact and lightweight
- Played my i-junk just as well as the songs on the machine
Cons
- It was particularly lightweight and affordable-feeling
- Couldn't turn down the volume to the microphones= really loud singing
- Songs included are terrible- I realize they cannot pay the rights to fine songs, but these had been just horrible

Suitable, so I got this unit. It didn't weigh as significantly as it could. Immediately after all the ones at the studio are substantially heavier. But then they cost about $4000. each and every. And I only got a single mic', you know there should be four or 5 AT that cost. Then I sang into it and nothing occurred.. Oh, it does not automatically come on and play the background I had in my head. WOW. Maybe this is a low finish unit. Possibly if I wanted a specialist studio model I should certainly have pulled a larger wad of money out. Anyway, all other silly observations aside, this is a superb tiny unit. It has songs worth messing with. It has an SD and a mp3 input (with power). The lyric screen truly functions and is easy to see... But not from across a basketball court. (duh). The speaker is modest but so is the "transportable" machine. I would opt to get an extension mic' cord or a single of those neat wireless ones by Pyle on Amazon (about $20). No, it is NOT a mixing studio nor would I go "pro" with it. It is, what it is a truly neat unit for kids (and family) to appreciate without the need of costing an arm and leg. The down side is that when you place on your Elvis costume and place the unit in your convertable, be certain to watch for rain. It isn't waterproof. You also do not get a radio or a cd,dvd, or 8-track player. There is a model that has most of those but then we are back up to a larger wad of funds... Don't forget TANSTAAFL (There ain't no such point as a no cost lunch).
